Viva Las Vegas

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Parker and I got to tag along with Brooks while he attended a conference in Las Vegas last week. While Brooks was at his conference all day, Parker and I went exploring. It was not warm as you will see in the pictures Parker is bundled up. We stayed at Treasure Island, and I got some good walking in. The furthest we walked was to the MGM Grand to see the Lions, Parker fell asleep soon after we got there so I am not sure if he even saw them. Another highlight was M&M World where Parker got his picture with Red and Yellow. Enjoy the pictures.

Parker 9 Months

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Parker is 9 months old and has 8 teeth already. He loves getting his teeth brushed and gets really excited when we pull out the baby toothpaste. He gets so excited Brooks and I have had a few bitten fingers. At his 9 month check up he was 20 lbs and 6 ounces and 27 1/2 inches tall. Parker is crawling all over and is a speedy little guy. He is also standing up with the assistance of anything he can grab, and has taken his share of tumbles as he is learning to stand. He loves to listen to his Baby Signing Time CD in the car, if he is getting upset we turn that on and he is good to go. He loves it when Daddy comes home from work and gets super excited flapping his arms and legs and laughing. Parker has started to get shy around strangers and he turns his head so he's not looking at them, but he warms up eventually. When he sees other babies he is very social and coos in his sweet voice and laughs. He likes to chew on his stuffed dog and teddy bear's noses. He is very curious and loves to explore, we have had to make sure doors are closed around the house, he especially loves closets and bathrooms. His 9 month picture was taken at my old job where I was filling in for a few days while the gang went on their annual cruise. It was quite the adventure with Parker.

Master Bedroom

Sunday, January 18, 2009

I have been wanting to add some artwork to our Master Bedroom and match it to our bedspread and pillows. So I thought I would show you all my attempt at being an artist. It's about time I used the paint set Brooks gave me for Christmas last year. I really like the modern/contemporary style (to the dismay of my husband) so thus the paintings, it is all about the clean lines. It took me forever to find a paint combination that came somewhat close to the right color. I have a lot to learn, but I am satisfied at my attempt of fine art.

Happy New Year

This is a bit late, but at least it is still January. We had a lobster fest to celebrate the New Year and enjoyed the company of not only some live lobster, who arrived that morning via fed ex, but also my brother Jeremy and his wife Hillary and their family and my brother Jason and his wife Larissa. Brooks was the Master Chef as I didn't have the heart to drop them into the boiling water. They turned out great and we had fun ringing in the New Year. Enjoy the pictures.

Look Mom - I can stand!

Friday, January 9, 2009

Parker started standing up by himself a week or so before Christmas, so I am a little late posting about it. This is one of the first times he stood up in his crib. He greets me every morning and after naps this way. He is now standing up with the assistance of about everything, he has taken some good tumbles, so I am on a much more vigilant watch. I guess next comes walking, yikes, he is growing up way to fast.

Our Merry Little Christmas

Sunday, January 4, 2009

We had a Merry Christmas as a little family. It was fun to celebrate Parker's first Christmas. He really enjoyed pulling the wrapping paper off of his presents and then putting it in his mouth, which I quickly grabbed away. We also celebrated with my brothers and sisters at the Luke Christmas Party (Missed Adam, Nadine, Mom and Dad who were celebrating in Africa). Santa Clause even came for a personal visit and a few pictures with Parker. He looked oddly familiar too. Enjoy the pictures, hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Let it Snow!

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Well it snowed again today and that reminded me I have some blogging to do. Hopefully I can get caught up this weekend. To start us off I thought I would share some pictures of the snow we received on Christmas Day. We had so much snow we ran out of places to put it, so we started piling it on our covered porch. After Brooks was done shoveling we took Parker out for some quick pictures of his first real snow. He seemed to enjoy it.
